Home About

A firm built on restraint.

We took the name from imperium — authority earned through stewardship — and aura, the quiet presence that surrounds a business run well. Both have to be built. Neither can be bought.

The firm

Why we exist

Most consulting fails for the same reason: it is sold by the people who are good at selling and delivered by the people who are cheapest to deploy.

Imperaura Private LLC was founded on the opposite arrangement. We are a small, deliberately capped practice. The principal who scopes an engagement is the principal in the room for it, and we accept a limited number of clients at a time so that this remains true rather than aspirational.

Our clients are privately held companies at an inflection point: a founder deciding whether to scale or consolidate, a family business preparing for succession, an owner-operator whose revenue has outgrown the structure holding it up. In each case, the presenting question is rarely the real one. Our first job is to find the real one, and to say it plainly — including when it is uncomfortable.

We operate from Allentown, Pennsylvania, and work with clients across the United States. Engagements are confidential by default, defined in scope before they begin, and priced before a single hour is billed.

We would rather lose an engagement than take one we cannot do properly.

Founding commitment

Principles

Four commitments we will not trade away.

These are not values on a wall. Each one has a cost we have already agreed to pay.

01

Candour before comfort

We tell clients what we actually found, in the order of importance we actually assign to it. If the answer is that the strategy is sound and the problem is a person, we say that.

02

Discretion as default

Client names, figures and documents are never used as marketing material. If we ever publish a case study, it is because a client asked us to and approved every line of it.

03

Scope before invoice

Deliverables, timeline and fee are agreed in writing before work begins. We do not bill for scope discovery, and we do not expand an engagement without your written agreement.

04

Accountability past handover

We remain engaged through the first phase of implementation. A recommendation that no one executes is a failed engagement, regardless of how well it was researched.

Leadership

Who you will actually be working with.

Small by design. Every engagement is led by a principal from first conversation through implementation.
